Welcome!

TRAC makes a contribution to the fabric of the community, to everyday life that institutions cannot.  TRAC provides informal and community-based arts and makes a significant contribution to restoring a sense of place and of connection in a changing world.  In this time of enormous social and economic change, life in small communities simply “isn’t what it used to be.” Patrick Overton, in his work titled Rebuilding the Front Porch of America, reminds us that “We are losing our front porch.  We are losing our gathering place.  It is being replaced with decks in the backyard and contemporary architecture dominated by the garage…Our culture is slowly ‘disintegrating.’”  Through organizations like TRAC, informal and community-based arts, we strengthen our sense of hometown roots, our sense of attachment and our belonging within our “home place,” our community.

Having arts programming, education, and events available as part of the fabric of everyday life, the Tomball community becomes more vibrant, more engaging, and a more interesting place to live.  Communities that become known for fostering the arts attract not only visitors, but new residents and homeowners who place a high value on community amenities and quality of life.

TRAC, an Arts-based social network, is important in building a strong community, a networked community.  We know that TRAC is a net contributor to the economic development of Tomball, the creation of a strong community identity, and the building of community capacity and civic commitment. Consider the important role that the Arts through TRAC hold in Tomball.  It is a social fabric that brings us together.

Research has proven that the Arts are the ties that bind the community to its residents and enhance economic development.  Together we can, indeed we will, become architects for our future!
